All-way stop coming to Susbauer and Wren roads intersection

Drivers should slow down and be prepared for a new all-way stop at the intersection of Susbauer and Wren roads, north of the city of Cornelius.

LUT Traffic Engineering and Operations and Maintenance staff are installing the new stop signs on Susbauer Road at Wren Road on Tuesday (April 23). With the existing signs on Wren Road, this will create an all-way stop.

There were 14 crashes reported to law enforcement at this intersection in FY 2023-24. The all-way stop will improve safety. Temporary signs, flags, flashing beacons and message boards will be used to alert drivers to the new traffic configuration.

Susbauer Road averages about 4,700 vehicle trips per day; Wren Road averages about 2,400 trips per day.

Portion of South OR 217 reduced to one lane April 26-29

Traffic on southbound OR 217, between Allen Boulevard and Denney Road, will be down to one lane from 9 p.m. Friday, April 26, to 5 a.m. Monday, April 29.

All on- and off-ramps will remain open. Expect slow-moving traffic, delays and congestion in the area.

The half-mile lane closure is part of the Oregon Department of Transportation OR 217 Auxiliary Lanes Project, which will reduce congestion and improve safety by providing drivers more space and time to merge.

The project is expected to be completed in 2025.
