Discussion on December 11th: Extraordinary Interfaith Inclusion at CBS

Interfaith families comprise a large part of CBS, not just in numbers but in their contributions to our community. Sometimes these families feel incredibly included and valued, and sometimes less so. We want to better understand what we are doing well and what would make us even better. Will you help?

On December 11, from 11:30-1:00 we are inviting members of interfaith families to inquire into "Extraordinary Interfaith Inclusion at CBS.”  The short session will explore your best experiences on feeling valued and included and your wishes for an even better future. No pre-work will be required.

We will be serving a light lunch and will also provide babysitting if needed. Please RSVP to esigale@comcast.net if you plan to attend.

Hanukkah Celebration, Saturday December 17, 6 pm

Join us as we get into the Hanukkah spirit at CBS's It's-Almost-Hanukkah Dinner & Celebration.  Features of the evening will include a Latke bar with tasty toppings, a selection of beverages for 8 crazy (and not so crazy) cups, a community Havdalah, and karaoke!  Please RSVP here.  Cost is $10 per individual; max of $25 per family.  We look forward to a fun, relaxing evening together as we end Shabbat and look toward Hanukkah.

Hanukkah Decorations

A Menorah in the front yard?  Blue and white lights across the eaves?  An inflatable dreidel spinning across your sidewalk?

If you are decorating your house in celebration of the Festival of LIghts, please let us know!  We would like to create a map of homes to provide to congregants interested in touring local Hanukkah displays.  Please email your address to membership@napershalom.org to be included. If you are interested in receiving the list, please email membership@napershalom.org and indicate your interest.

Chesed and Tikun Olam Connections

Our Tikun Olam hero of the week is Robin Rubin. Robin arranges meals for families during sickness and mourning. She makes use of a wonderful app called “Meal Train” where it is easy and seamless for congregants to sign up for meals, to describe the food they will be bringing, and to inform the families what to expect. Our congregation pulls together for all those in need. Many communities do not have such a caring outreach. We are so proud of Congregation Beth Shalom and so fortunate to have giving congregants like Robin who help in making CBS a warm, caring, and loving place. Thank you again, Robin. You are so appreciated.
