Fundraising for Clinicians

Leveraging Philanthropy to Build and Sustain Your Research Program - May 9, 2pm - 4pm


Many clinicians will face the situation of a patient or family member asking if they can donate to their research. Or they may need information on how to ask a patient or family member about donating. This seminar will teach basic fundraising principles, including best practices, case studies, and role-playing exercises. In person only in Mission Hall, room 1401. Open to early career clinical faculty. More info/register

Announcing CREST: New Career Development Program for Clinical Research Staff

The Clinical Research Staff Research and Exploration to Facilitate STEMM Training (CREST) Career Development Program will support clinical research staff who plan to pursue additional training in STEMM professions. CREST Scholars will have 20% protected time (equivalent to one day a week) to participate in professional development, career exploration, and mentored research (maintaining regular clinical research staff duties 80% of the time). The day that is devoted to CREST activities will be fully supported and there will be no impact on your salary for participation in this program.

Community Engaged Research Pilot Awards Open to Staff and Trainees

Applications due May 6, 2024, at 2pm


Intended to fund partnership projects where community-based organizations and UCSF academic partners work together. It can be used to support community-engaged cancer research and translation, education, and outreach addressing the needs of communities in our 25-county catchment area. Provides HDFCCC faculty with grant review for multi-year, independent grants. Can submit just specific aims or the whole grant. Open to HDFCCC Full or Associate Members who are not in the Department of Medicine (DOM faculty have access to the PREPARE Program). More info/apply
