Watch your mailbox for the Transportation Tomorrow Survey
The Regional Municipality of Durham has partnered with the Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO), several transit agencies, and 18 other municipalities for the 2022 Transportation Tomorrow Survey (TTS).

This survey collects information about weekday trips; with data used for long-range transportation infrastructure and service planning.

Keep an eye on your mailbox—this fall, the Ontario Ministry of Transportation will randomly send invitation letters to residents. While most are done online or via phone, some residents will be contacted by phone to complete the survey. Visit TTS2022.ca to learn more.

KI tablets available for all area residents living near nuclear generating stations
Durham Region Health Department is encouraging all residents living within 10 kilometres of the Pickering or Darlington nuclear generating stations to have a supply of potassium iodide (KI) tablets in their households. This recommendation is also aimed at pregnant and breastfeeding women, and parents of infants, children and adolescents as KI is both safe and most effective for these individuals.

The Health Department has developed a video to help educate the public about the purpose of KI tablets and to increase awareness of the availability of the pills. The video can be viewed on the Health Department’s YouTube channel.

For more information or to obtain a free supply of KI tablets, visit preparetobesafe.ca, or call Durham Health Connection Line at 905-668-2020 or 1-800-841-2729.
