SC Native Plant Week Recap
The Town of Kiawah Island and Kiawah Conservancy hosted SC Native Plant Week this week. Events included:

  • Watercolor Workshop
  • Cocktails with Collie
  • Coffee with Collie
  • A Walk in Nature with Dr. Jane Ellis
  • Bird Banding with Aaron Given
  • Learning with Lee
  • 10 Ways That You Can Attract More Birds to Your Yard
  • Native Plant Pop-Up Shop

At these events, Kiawah residents were encouraged to Grow Native and reminded of the vital roles that native plants play in our ecosystem.

Kiawah’s Grow Native initiative is a community-wide effort to increase the use of native plants in landscaping projects across the island with an overall goal of improving wildlife habitat. Click here to learn more about the Grow Native initiative.
Excess Waste Disposal
Excess waste can now be disposed of in the waste containers located at Kestrel Court Recycling Center. More here
Save The Date: Meet The Candidates Night
Meet the Town Council Candidates on Thursday, Nov. 17, from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. The venue for Meet The Candidates night will be the Legends Ballroom at:

Off-Leash Season Approaching
"Off-Leash" season officially begins next month, running from November 1 to March 14.
25th Anniversary Symphony Tour of Island Homes
Following this year's Symphony Tour of Island Homes, the Charleston Symphony Orchestra will perform a free concert at the West Beach Conference Center courtesy of the Town of Kiawah Island Arts and Cultural Events Council. This concert is free to attend and is a separately ticketed event. Click here to claim your free ticket today!

Tickets for both events are also available for purchase/and or pick up at Town Hall. Proceeds benefit the Charleston Symphony and CSOL Music Scholarships.

Andy Irwin, Storyteller

Andy Offutt Irwin is equal parts mischievous schoolboy and the Marx Brothers, peppered with a touch of the Southern balladeer. He has been a Featured Teller at the National Storytelling Festival ten times and is a perennial favorite at the International Storytelling Center’s Teller-in-Residence Series. more

A frequent guest of the world’s premiere orchestras, Mr. Fung has captivated audiences at Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center, the Louvre, and more. Mr. Fung garnered international attention as a laureate of the Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition in Brussels and the Arthur Rubinstein Piano International Masters Competition in Tel Aviv, where the Chamber Music and Mozart Prizes further distinguished him. more
