Stewardship Thought

Every time I take a step in the direction of generosity, I know I am moving from fear to love. Rev. Henri Nouwen

Fill our tree with Hope, Peace, Joy, Love, Light.

Merry Christmas!!!

It’s Advent season! This year our Advent Giving Tree will be all about our neighbors!

OASIS CHRISTMAS GIFTS:

Oasis has requested our assistance in providing their clients with new clothes and toys for their clients and their young children. Look for information (coming soon) near the Christmas Tree in the Fireside area. All items should be new and unwrapped. Wrapping paper, gift bags, scotch tape and ribbon would also be welcome.

Items requested:

Children's toys baby-elementary school

Full-sized hygiene products-shampoo-conditioner-body wash-lotion-hand warmers

Bath Towels

Wash Clothes

Laundry soap (pod form)

iPhone and Android charger cords

Gas cards to Speedway or BP (Donate $ and St. Luke’s will purchase the gift cards from RaiseRight)

Hooded sweatshirts

Nice shaving razors (not throw-away plastic)

KENNEDY KIDS

We will be buying gift cards for Kennedy Kids again this year. Money will be collected by St. Luke’s and we will then purchase Target, Walmart, Holiday Gas and Speedway gift cards for their students in need. We will add an ornament to the Giving Tree for each donation that is made.  Last year St. Luke’s members donated over $2100 to Kennedy Kids, and they were amazed by and appreciative of your generosity.

Bev Brosam or other Mission Team members will be in the Narthex collecting money for Oasis and for Kennedy Kids on Sundays through December 4.

Thank you for your generosity!!

Advent Candle Lighting

Members are invited to help light the way to Christmas as we share the Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love of Jesus. There are eleven opportunities – two each Sunday of Advent (8:30 and 10 AM) and three on Christmas Eve (2, 4, and 10 PM). If interested please sign up on the sheet on the kiosk in the Narthex or contact the church office. Prayerfully consider participating. It involves a short reading and lighting a candle, which can be done by an individual, friends, or a family.

Children and Youth Choir

Practice on Sundays December 4th, 11th and 18th from 11-12:00 AM in the choir room for a Christmas Eve Worship.

Oasis Coat Drive

Oasis has requested new or gently used coats for teens and their young children. We will be collecting items until Sunday, December 10. Leave items in the Oasis box in the Narthex.

Thank you for your contributions!
