Tug of War and Free Dress
By; Kaley Scott (Gr 10)
Thursday, January 25 brought the students of Forest Heights many festivities. Students were encouraged to come out of uniform and ditch their backpacks with an
inventive way to carry their belongings. Students brought suitcases, laundry baskets, trash bags, and even pillowcases! The halls were riddled with laughter and creativity. Teachers participated in the fun as well! For the most creative replacement for a backpack, several lucky students received prizes.
The second event of the day was a nail-biting house competition, tug of war. Junior and senior teams were chosen for each house. Each house pulled against each other while students and faculty eagerly looked on. Laughter, screams of encouragement, and cheers radiated off the field. There was no denying each student's sense of team spirit! After the fierce competition, the highly anticipated scores were revealed. The outcome was a 3-way tie! In the junior round, blue house emerged as the winner, with green and red house following in second and third overall. Then, in the senior round, red was victorious with green and blue in 2nd and 3rd place. Each house scored an equal number of points!
There are multiple upcoming events that can change the current rankings drastically from how they currently stand. For instance, Friday, February 2nd is quickly approaching- which is sports day. Only time will tell how the scores will change following yet another intense house event. Falcons, stay tuned! Who will win in the end?
