WIHA Update | Wisconsin Institute for Healthy Aging

APRIL 2024

2023 Annual Report

A big THANKS to all of you for your part in reaching over 2,760 participants in 2023! You're making a difference in helping people to manage and prevent chronic conditions and help people learn how to age well! We're excited for what 2024 has in store!

Recruitment Strategies

A lot has changed since the pandemic. But have recruitment strategies? We asked you! Results at right.

When recruiting for your workshops, it's important to use a mix of both passive and active strategies!

Passive Strategies - Those that require initial effort to develop and place, but then exist and are in the community waiting for people to see them. Examples include flyers, social media, brochures, newspaper articles, and more.

Active Strategies - Those that require action to reach out and pull people into workshops and motivate them to join. Active strategies require engagement to personally reach out to potential participants. Examples include informational sessions, personal letters, presentations, and more.

WIHA has promotional materials for both marketing strategies on our website. Learn more about these techniques by watching this month's office hours!

Where: SentryWorld in Stevens Point, WI

When: May 15, 2025

The summit will be a great opportunity to network and learn about healthy aging with a group of peers. So save the date! We hope to see you there!

We’re aging. All of us. And it’s up to each of us to take good care of ourselves and our health as we age. That’s where we come in. We’re here to help people help themselves to better health. But we can’t do it alone! As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, we operate on grants and contributions from generous donors and partners. Your support is vital to us as we administer programs and promote practices that encourage good health. With your donation we can serve older adults in the best possible way to increase the quality of their lives. We thank you so much for being a part of our network!
