President’s Points of Pride

Earlier this week, the Spring 2023 issue of Shepherd University Magazine launched online. The digital delivery of the magazine allows us to share more information than we were able to fit in the pages of a printed magazine, including easier access to additional photos, videos, and related content and the ability to provide more timely news.

This publication showcases the many reasons why we are a proud Ram Fam!

Please read about:

  • Our 2022 Alumna of the Year Cheryl Roberts ’80 and her dedication to and love for our University
  • The Shepherd University Athletic Club (SUAC) and its support of our athletic programs and its partnership with our wonderful students to create a business plan for next-level SUAC growth
  • The success of the recent Professional Connections Day
  • Notable Athletics firsts, from former Head Football Coach Monte Cater being inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame to student-athletes’ academic accolades, and so much more!

Thank you to all who contributed content for the Spring Magazine—Tory Orr ’20 from University Communications, who designed this gorgeous publication, and the entire Magazine team, directed by Dana Costa. Together, the writing and photos share the people and stories that make Shepherd such a special place.

Common Reading Program chooses title for 2023-24

Since 2007, the Shepherd University Common Reading Program has fostered a shared reading experience by featuring a collectively chosen book to be highlighted throughout the academic year. The program is sponsored by the Shepherd University Foundation. Voting has ended for the 2023-2024 common reading selection, and the winner is...No Visible Bruises: What We Don't Know About Domestic Violence Can Kill Us by Rachel Louise Snyder.

The book is available at the Scarborough Library and at local and online booksellers. Free copies will soon be available for faculty and staff who might use the book for programming or instruction. If you'd like to help plan events related to this selection, the Common Reading Planning Committee is always looking for new members. Email Shannon Holliday at shollida@shepherd.edu to be added to the group.
