Dear Residents -

Orangetown’s beautiful Blue Hill Golf Course is turning 100 years old this year! To commemorate this important milestone, AJ Lee and Michael Gorham, our dedicated golf professionals, have planned several events to kick off the season - starting today with the ceremonial tee shot. While I was happy to attend, for safety considerations (to both golfers and the golf course), my golfing was restricted to the practice putting green.

After taking a few years off, the Lt. John Bellew 5K Run/Walk is back! It starts at 11 am tomorrow at the firehouse on Central Avenue in Pearl River. Participants will navigate the streets of Pearl River while spectators cheer them on. There will be a barbecue, face painting, music and more after the race. Come remember a friend, honor a hero and continue a legacy. Click HERE to register.

On Sunday, there’s a benefit for Team Troy at the Rockland GAA from 2 pm to 10 pm. Troy Murphy, a 15-year-old student at Pearl River High School, was diagnosed with Becker muscular dystrophy, leaving him wheelchair-bound. Friends and family have put this event together to raise funds for essential medical equipment and other supplies. Get ready for a day filled with live music by The Racket, Cousins Moran, Sundogs, and Side Hustle! Together we can make a difference in Troy’s journey. To donate, please click HERE.

We are just over a week from the opening of the Pearl River Farmers Market. It is returning to the Central Avenue Field next Saturday, May 4th from 10 am to 2 pm, and will run through November. Joe has promised a variety of vendors, with something for everyone, so mark your calendar and do not miss out.

The weather is looking good for the weekend, so get outside and enjoy it!

Regards –
