My paintings capture the beauty I see around me. If I see a tree that inspires me, I paint it in a way that makes you feel the early morning chill, hear the
rustle of the leaves as the wind picks up, and see the light between the branches and around the leaves.

Andy, like a lot of kids, feels a little lost and out of place when he moves to Gotham. Unlike most kids, he's less excited about the idea of meeting Batman than he is about seeing his childhood hero, the wrestler Waylon Jones...a.k.a. Killer Croc! If Andy can find him and ask for some wrestling tips, he can have it all. Trouble is, Batman is looking for Andy's childhood hero, too. In My Buddy, Killer Croc, Sara Farizan and Nicoletta Baldari unite to tell a charming tale of a boy in a new school, his new friends and enemies, and the super-villain who teaches him how to put the bullies in their place.

Author Visit: Yvonne Caputo
Wednesday, November 2nd — 7:00—8:00 PM
Community Room
When Yvonne Caputo wrote her first book, Flying with Dad, she was surprised to find that readers had questions—not about her father’s adventures in World War II, but about how, years later, she was brave enough to stop paramedics from reviving him to respect his Do Not Resuscitate order.
In Dying with Dad: Tough Talks for Easier Endings, Yvonne’s goal is to share the joy she felt when her father died. Not because he died, but because at the end of his life he was treated exactly the way he’d wanted. It was possible because she dared to have a heart-to-heart conversation with him about his wishes for end-of-life experiences before it was too late.
Presenter: Yvonne Caputo has a Master’s Degree in Education and in Clinical Psychology. Her first book, Flying with Dad, is a story about her relationship with her father through his telling of World War II stories.
This program will be held in the Community Room. Register by clicking here. Questions? Contact DeAnne O'Brien at dobrien@ivpl.org.
