Researchers use microorganisms to counter bovine respiratory disease

The little things living in a calf's nose could be key to combating bovine respiratory disease, the single most costly illness affecting the beef industry.

Jiangchao Zhao, associate professor of animal science at the Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station and in the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences, uses next-generation sequencing to identify the microorganisms populating the bovine nasal cavities, known as the respiratory microbiome. Calling ADSA Members at World Dairy Expo

Are you looking for a way to get more involved with ADSA? Volunteering at the ADSA booth during the 2022 World Dairy Expo is a great way to get connected with a variety of professionals who visit the booth.

This year's expo will once again be held in Madison, Wisconsin, at the Alliant Energy Center from October 2 to 7. The Trade Show begins on Tuesday October 4. Hours will be Tuesday – Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. If you will be attending the expo this year and would like to help at the ADSA exhibit booth, please fill out this form to let Morgan Montgomery know.

Please only sign up if you will already be at the World Dairy Expo and have time in your schedule to volunteer. ADSA will not be paying for entry fees for volunteers to join us.

Please note that the ADSA booth has moved from our old location in the Coliseum. We will now be in the Trade Center at booth 485, located next to the outdoor trade mall.

Don’t have time to volunteer, stop by anyway to say Hello and check out what’s new with ADSA. Invite potential members to come as well.

Thank you for your support of ADSA, and we look forward to seeing you in Madison!
