Turn ORO training hours into free credits at Lane Community College
Are you a Step 7, or higher, on the Oregon Registry? Consider taking advantage of this exciting opportunity to earn credit by assessment for the trainings you have already taken.

Individuals who have earned a Step 7 on the Oregon Registry can apply to have their professional development hours translated to 13 college credits at Lane Community College. Individuals will receive credit for the following classes:

  • ECE 140 - Theory and Supervised Teaching
  • ECE 150 - Creative Activities for Young Children
  • ECE 120 - Introduction to Early Childhood Education
  • ECE 105 - Health and Safety in Early Childhood Education
  • HDFS 226 - Child Development

Apply for Oregon's Family Child Care Scholarship





The Oregon Center for Career Development in Childhood Care and Education (OCCD), in partnership with the Early Learning Division and AFSCME/Oregon Child Care Providers Together, has recently announced the launch of Oregon’s Family Child Care Scholarship Program.

Oregon’s Family Child Care Scholarship provides financial support to individuals for the purpose of professional development in the early learning field. The scholarship is available to individuals named as the Provider on an Oregon Registered Family or Certified Family Child Care license. Scholarships are available first come, first served through June 30, 2019 for a total determined by scholarship type (college coursework, training, conference, or credential).

Director of the Vivian Olum Child Development Center at the University of Oregon
The University is seeking a highly experienced early care and education leader to serve as the Director of the center. The center’s mission is to serve the child care needs of faculty and staff families, operates early childhood and school age programs in seven classrooms, and serves over 100 children daily. Located on campus, the center has approximately 20 teaching staff, UO student employees, and an administrative staff of an assistant director, program coordinator and business manager.
