Remembering Larri M. Milligan
Around 5:45 pm, before the start of every Council meeting, Ms. Larri Milligan, lovingly known as Ms. Larri, would come into the Council chambers, and sit in her favorite chair. A fixture at both Council and Planning Commission meetings, she took advantage of this time before the start of each session to catch up on reading the novel of the day. Ms. Larri was quick to bring a bag full of books at the next encounter, to give to whoever had expressed interest in what she was reading.
An engineer by trade, Ms. Larri was not one to sign up to speak during public comments at the meetings; however, she was not shy to communicate her feelings about the Council and Commission decisions or votes.
It is with great sadness, that we report the sudden passing of Ms. Larri on August 30th, at the age of 78. As a small token of appreciation for her dedication to Peachtree City and civic engagement, a plaque in her memory has been placed on her seat in the Council Chambers. Her polite conversations and friendly demeanor will be missed by those both in the audience and on the dais.
