Casa Cornelia Law Center is a public interest law firm providing quality pro bono legal services to victims of human and civil rights violations. The Center has a primary commitment to the indigent within the immigrant community in Southern California. Casa Cornelia strives to educate others regarding the impact of immigration law and policy on society and the public good. This offering is not affiliated with the Faculty and Staff Assistance Program (FSAP) or CARE at SARC; however, we encourage folks to utilize those campus resources as well. Let’s Talk About Menopause!

Join us for an open conversational space created for Campus Staff & Faculty where we will explore the topic of menopause and support one another through sharing experiences, feelings, resources, and strategies to better navigate an often-challenging phase of life.
Participants will be invited to share their menopause related topics of interest for future monthly meeting discussions. Personal medical questions must be reserved for consultation with a healthcare provider.
This is a collaboration with the Faculty and Staff Assistance Program (FSAP) and the Women’s Center, facilitated by Izabel Caetano Francy, LCSW, and Jennifer Triana, LCSW, FSAP licensed clinicians, and menopause champion Jess Geipel, all of whom recognize that menopause affects people differently and understand that one person’s experience does not represent all people’s experience.

Undergraduate Library Research Prize Submissions
We are delighted to announce the submission period for the 2024 Undergraduate Library Research Prize (ULRP) contest is now open for students who have presented a research project under faculty mentorship over the past 12 months.
The ULRP allows us to reward and recognize students who demonstrate a strategic and effective use of the Library as a resource in direct support of research undertaken on campus. The contest is co-sponsored by the UC San Diego Library, UC San Diego Alumni and the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs.
Submit documentation & receive a faculty nomination by April 28.

April is National Poetry Month!
At Geisel Library and in the breezeway at Sally T. WongAvery Library, we feature some of our favorite poetry books from Geisel's permanent circulating collection AND poems themed on science and medicine, highlighting both individual offerings and anthologies of poems from nurses, doctors, pharmacists, scientists and lab personnel. Of note are new poems from young citizen-scientists that will be added to the exhibit throughout the month courtesy of Students With Dependents, a campus support group that offered to celebrate with us.

The Associated Students Office of Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion and Campus-Wide Senator Christina Marie Green has a $5,000 scholarship for the Poverty Project 2024 Summer Research Program with the Homelessness Hub and Department of Urban Studies and Planning. The scholarship will provide support related to housing, travel, equipment, and other costs associated with the scholar's endeavors of activist research focusing on a racial lens to the student housing crisis.
