IEC Foundation Disaster Relief Fund
The IEC Foundation Disaster Relief Fund provides timely and supportive assistance to IEC association members, apprentices, chapters, staff, and their families in times of need and crisis from natural disasters and devastating events. Our mission is to address immediate needs, short term burdens and alleviate distress for those affected by disasters, while fostering resilience to allow and enable them to focus on response, recovery and maintaining organizational continuity.
Disaster relief aims to help individuals and families in crisis while also supporting local chapters and members to maintain operations within the communities they serve. While often associated with large scale disasters that impact entire regions, disaster relief efforts also extend to tragedies that are not widespread but still have significant impacts on the affected individuals or communities.
IEC Foundation Disaster Relief Grants provide essential support for expenses that are not covered by insurance policies or other forms of donations. The focus of IECF Disaster relief is on providing support for immediate disaster related needs such as community resources, essential supplies, and shelter.
Medical expenses, funeral expenses and are strictly prohibited from Disaster Relief Awards. Applications for Disaster Relief are awarded at the sole discretion of the current reviewers. Present need, current available funds and specific circumstances of each application are considered during the review and award process. Each application decision is granted on an individual basis.
Disaster Relief Fund Applications may only be submitted through the direct referral of an IEC Chapter in Good Standing. The chapter must request the link which must be submitted to apply for funds. All applications will be approved or denied within 30 days of submission. All committee award decisions are final.

As a contractor, the Foundation is an integral part of the IEC family working to support the apprentices & the chapters. I have a had a front row seat as a President both locally & Nationally to see the results of the Foundation efforts in our chapters from the classrooms to the graduations. There is no doubt each chapter, apprentice, graduate & their contractors, whether they know it or not, have been touched by the Foundation’s work in some form or another. Without the Foundation the many apprentices in need of scholarships would not have had the opportunity to start their education to becoming an electrician, the life changing career for them and their family. IEC National partners would not have an avenue to support the chapters with their many material & tool donations that bless the chapters to allow them to constantly improve & revolutionize the learning environment for the apprentices. These programs or the many others that come out of the Foundation have an undeniable impact on industry, especially the IEC family. It is hard not to want to be involved in a benevolent effort to constantly change & improve our industry. I am honored to be able to work with the rest of the IEC Foundation Board of Trustees to impact IEC thru the IEC Foundation’s mission for the future of the electrical industry. -Troy Corrigan
