Dear Parents and Guardians,
As you may know, Mrs. Davis and I attended the conference at the FLAEYC (Florida Association for the Education of Young Children), where Mrs. Davis presented. I have learned so much new information and can not wait to implement it here at Kids for Kids Academy.
UPCOMING EVENTS:
In-House Field Trip: Due to Hurricane Milton, we rescheduled our in-house field trip with the Miami Children's Museum for 10/24/24.
Halloween Celebration: Our Halloween Celebration will be on 10/30. Students are to wear their costumes to school with a change of clothes in a labeled Ziplock bag. Remember, no masks that may obstruct sight or weapons. This is an excellent opportunity to connect with other families and support our school community. Some parents will be asked to sit in chairs and pass out treats if needed. We have the ladies from Kiwanis who help with this yearly, so only a few helpers will be required. Please see the class schedule below.

Important Reminders
- School Hours: As a reminder, Kindergarten starts at 8:20-2:00
First and Second starts 8:20-2:30
Please ensure your child arrives on time and checks in/out in Brightwheel.
Health Guidelines: We continue to prioritize the health and safety of our students. Please remember to keep your child at home if they feel unwell and report any illnesses to the school. If your child has a fever of 100.4, the office will give a pick, and we ask that your child be home for 24 hours and be fever-free.
No Cook Wednesday: Josh will be back next week. Starting next week, please pay Josh using the various payment apps he accepts. We can no longer bill Brightwheel.
Kindness 101:
This weeks kindness topic was generosity. Students were given a chocolate chip cookie to split in two. They were asked which piece of cookie would they choose for themselves. Some children chose to keep the larger piece for themselves and give the smaller piece to another person. To show generosity we had them give the larger piece to someone else because a cookie is a cookie no matter the size. We also asked the k-2 families to donate a used children’s book for our community library located outside of Mrs. Davis’ office. We wrote messages in the book to spread kindness. We chose this activity to show the students how simple it is to show generosity to others.
