SPARK Trainings Are Back!

First 2024-25 SPARK Training 


The Children's Trust is sponsoring the first SPARK (Sports, Play, and Active Recreation for Kids) trainings for the 24-25 year. The training is for contracted Youth Development providers using the SPARK curriculum for fitness. Check the Trust Academy LMS event calendar for future trainings.

Our new website will feature two distinct environments: one for parents and one specifically for our partners and prospective partners, offering tailored resources and information to better serve your needs.

The Children's Trust's School-Based Health RFP Soon to be Released

The Children’s Trust, in collaboration with the Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) and the Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade County (DOH - Miami-Dade), will continue to fund a comprehensive school-based health initiative that increases access to health and wellness services for children and families. The approach involves nursing and mental health professional services and community referrals that promote a healthy school environment intended to identify, prevent and/or remedy student health problems. In addition, telehealth services will be integrated to provide remote access to medical consultations and mental health support, ensuring that students receive care regardless of location.


This is a competitive solicitation open to current school health providers and other community health providers qualified to perform school-based health services.

Applications Opening for The Trust's Thrive By 5 Early Learning Quality Improvement System 

For our early care and education partners, applications will open on October 7 to become a part of the Children’s Trust Thrive By 5 Early Learning Quality Improvement System (QIS). Through Thrive by 5 QIS, early learning programs and educators will have access to comprehensive opportunities to improve and sustain high-quality early learning programs. To access more information about Thrive By 5 QIS benefits and supports for programs, including A$CEND and Families Forward CLICK HERE.

 

Licensed childcare programs that meet ALL the following criteria qualify to participate; those meeting some criteria may qualify, depending on available resources:

 

1. Serve 30 percent or more young children (under age 6) receiving a school readiness subsidy

2. Located in a high-poverty zip code

3. Serve infants and toddlers

Access ElevatEd Portal: New Online Learning Platform & Workforce Registry

ElevatEd is an online learning platform and professional workforce registry dedicated to empowering early learning educators. ElevatEd supports professional growth with a variety of services, including expert-led courses, scholarships, financial awards, and career pathway options. In addition, this new system will house all Thrive by 5 provider-related tools, such as, entering monthly enrollment, viewing tier level, and creating a program staff roster.

The Motivational Edge

This week, we feature The Motivational Edge and their Allapattah Campus. The Motivational Edge is a solution focused youth development agency that utilizes culturally relevant arts and other platforms to engage, educate and empower young lives. By providing culturally relevant programming using a trauma-informed approach, The Motivational Edge focuses on mentoring, job readiness, and life-skills development through the arts, sports, and wellness initiatives to ensure that every youth is ready to contribute positively to their community.


The organization's current arts-based youth development space in Allapattah is a vibrant and dynamic hub that plays a crucial role in the lives of hundreds of school-aged kids. This space serves as a haven for young individuals' creativity, growth, and personal development. Participate in an LGBTQ+ Research Study *

The In CommUNITY research study is gathering insights through surveys and focus groups to better understand the health and lived experiences of LGBTQ+ residents in Miami-Dade County.

• If you're 18 or older, reside in Miami-Dade County, and identify as LGBTQ+, they want to hear from you! Compensation is provided.

• They also want to hear from professionals who serve LGBTQ+ individuals in the county, including health care providers, staff from community-based organizations, and government employees.

Share Your Knowledge in Youth Violence Study

Behavioral Science Research Institute (BSRI) is partnering with a local community-based organization on a study about youth and violence here in South Florida. This research aims to better understand the challenges faced by youth in different communities in Miami and inform policies to improve their safety and well-being.


They are seeking individuals with personal or professional experience in this area to participate in a short interview (~30 min.) to gather perspectives on youth violence locally. Interviews will be held on Zoom between October 14-31. As a thank you for sharing your knowledge with them, they will provide a $25 VISA gift card following the interview completion.

The Communications and Community Engagement (CE) Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Director of Communications with the general administration of communications projects, vendor agreements and purchase orders. Work performed by the Communications & Community Engagement Coordinator includes but is not limited to researching and obtaining bids for services or purchased goods, monitoring agreements and their terms of services, scopes of work and quality of final product, goods or service to ensure high level output. The incumbent has latitude to make informed decisions and recommendations regarding vendor and/or materials selection; and prepares reports for the department and executive management.


Accountant- $61,565.02 Annual

The Accountant is responsible for reviewing and critically analyzing financial information and provider/vendor documents and with an emphasis on maintaining quality internal control standards. Advocacy Network on Disabilities is seeking a compassionate and skilled Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) Therapist to join its clinical team. The ideal candidate will have specialized training and experience in providing trauma-focused therapy to children, adolescents, and their families.
