In ancient Israel, wells were not only important -- they were critical for survival. And, most would agree that a deeper vs. a shallow well is preferable. A deep, drilled well reaches water that is cool and pure, and it's not likely to fail. If we apply this to our spiritual lives, going deep is something that we prefer to do. The depth of one's spiritual well is critically important, too! Worship with Sunday to learn more!

ELAINE WRIGHT BURLEY

Our deepest sympathies and prayers go out to the family of SMUMC disciple, Elaine Burley, who died on September 23, 2022 in Ashburn, Virginia. Sympathies may be sent to Elaine’s daughter, Ruth Goldburg, 12775 Bradwell Road, Herndon, Virginia 20171.

The Aesthetics Committee would like to acknowledge the donation of this beautiful painting entitled "Release" by our very own resident artist, Cara Davis. The painting is displayed in the hallway outside of the CDC After School Room. Come take a look in person!

Thank you to all who have donated gifts so far this year!

We still have 20 kids to shop for. Contact Sarah Boylston or Sandy James to help bring joy to a child this Christmas.

Please plan to attend worship on Sunday, November 27, 2022, as we officially kick off the Advent season by celebrating our traditional Hanging of the Greens service.

There will be no Celebrate! worship that day. Sunday school will begin at 10 AM, and we will have one combined  worship service together in the sanctuary beginning at

11 AM.

Please plan to stay following worship for a covered dish fellowship meal. Meat and drinks will be provided. You are asked to bring a side dish or dessert to share. We hope you and your family can be present for this meaningful morning of worship and fellowship!

This one-session seminar will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at Saint Mark from 6-8 PM and facilitated by Diane Caster. To learn more or to RSVP, contact Diane at [email protected].

Rev. Todd Davis and his wife, Cara, attended the 2022 Baptist Women’s World Day of Prayer on Monday, November 7, 2022 held at Norton Thompson Park in downtown Seneca. Though the day was “unusually” hot, the time of worship and prayer were amazing! They joined many leaders from around Seneca including

Ms. Helen Rosemond-Saunders, President of the Baptist Women’s Union, Reverend WC Honeycutt, Jr., Moderator, and Mr. Dan Alexander, Mayor of Seneca. Worship and prayer for the seven world continents included Breaking cycles of violence, Revival of God’s Word, God’s providence for countries devastated by natural disasters, recovery from Covid-19 pandemic, Social justice throughout the world, and many others issues.

A list of (non-weekly) Church meetings and events during the next two weeks.

Join us for lunch and learn about the Risk Reduction Program from guest speaker Zac Smith of Oconee Emergency Services.
