We worked hard all year,
then we celebrated at FestEve!35
Thank you for all who celebrated with us at the Decorative Center of Houston in November and/or wished us well.
Special thanks to...
· H-E-B and all our sponsors
· our co-chairs Letitia Plummer, David Mincberg and Lainie Gordon, Shawn Taylor and Gerald Womack
· our honorees Gaynell Drexler, Donna Anderson and Charles Washington
· the CAC board of directors, FestEve! Committee members, staff and volunteers
· our ebullient emcees Viktor LE Givens and Janice Bond
· the talented entertainers for the evening and
· the artists who contributed to the silent auction.
We’re back at work doing what we do best—providing high-quality programming, including exhibitions, historical preservation, tourism and arts education for children and adults within the greater Houston area.
In the meantime, revisit and enjoy some of the scenes from FestEve!35. (See more in "Favorite Links from Facebook postings.)"

Congratulations to CAC Board Member Mary Holt Ashley, who was honored as a Leader and a Legend by the Texas Nursing Association earlier this year. Ashley, Ph.D., RN, and four others were recognized in Austin for their volunteer and leadership services to TNA and for their innovations in improving patient care, advocating for nurses and mentoring future nurse leaders.
Ashley worked for 36 years at the Harris County Hospital District and retired as chief nurse executive. She has been recognized as Healthcare Executive of the Year, Best Nurse Leader of the Year by ADVANCE for Nurses and Nurse of the Year by the Eta Delta Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau.
She has been a member of the CAC Board for many years and is a valuable contributor to its mission and activities.

We’ve never won an Oscar,
an Emmy, a Tony or a Golden Globe,
but we have some pretty good stories to tell you on YouTube. Check out what we’re doing in the community to increase art education and appreciation and how we support many talented artists and crafts folks. Our videos include workshops, artist interviews and exhibition tours. We invite you to visit our channel and subscribe.
