We celebrated the sacrament of Baptism of Kristen Baily in the sound at the 16th street access last Saturday. May the God of hope fill Kristen with all joy and peace as she trusts in Him. Her beautiful daughters will join her with their own baptisms on Dec 11th. What a joy!

An Appreciation Day was held for Rachel Mundine to celebrate and honor her for over 35 years as Organist of First Methodist Church. Thank you to the Chancel Choir for singing “Gloria” and hosting a reception in the Atrium after both traditional services. Mary Ann Holland read a poem that she had written about Rachel’s life experiences. It was truly a day of celebrating Rachel Mundine!

You are invited to celebrate in the retirement of Ms. Vera Price, Early Learning Center Director, on Sunday, December 11th from 2:00 - 4:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall. Do you have a picture of Ms. Vera in action? We would love to gather a collection of images. You can send your pictures to Sarah Williams at swilliams@fumcmhc.org.

Place a poinsettia in the church in honor or in memory of a loved one. They are $20 each and can be ordered at the church office or online. The poinsettia will be available for pickup on December 11th after the worship service. All other poinsettias will be delivered to our homebound. The last day to order will be December 5th.

(Nursery and child care will be provided for kids who choose not to worship with their families)

We had an amazing weekend retreat at Camp Don Lee last weekend with 52 youth, 8 adult chaperones, 3 college chaperones, 1 Duke Intern, and a guest speaker. We talked about what it looks like to live a life TRANSFORMED - a life filled with Faith, Hope, and Love. Through worship, small groups, sailing, archery, canoeing, and free time, these youth were invited into deeper relationships with each other and with Jesus Christ. Our youth band led music for all 4 worship services and blew me away with their musical talent and their ability to bring us into the presence of the Holy Spirit. My heart is full and I can't wait to see what God will do in the lives of all of our young men and women. Thank you to all of our chaperones who willingly gave their time to help these young people grow in their faith! It takes a village and I am so happy you are all a part of this one. -Pastor Sarah

It was Kids Ministry’s turn to pack Operation Christmas Child boxes on Sunday night. Pastor Patrick shared his personal experiences of being with children that had received a Christmas box. If you are packing at home you we ask that you bring your gift to the church by this Sunday.
