Attendance Matters at UPark!

In the last few weeks, you may have received an email from our Superintendent or a letter from UPark celebrating your child's attendance. We appreciate all you are doing to support your child's attendance at UPark!

Consistent and regular attendance is incredibly important to a student's education and overall well-being at school. If a student misses 10% or more of the school year, they are considered chronically absent. That is about 1-2 days per month! Being on-time is also essential, as students have their social emotional learning first thing in the morning and this is an important time of day to build community and set the stage for the day.

According to Colorado State Law and DPS attendance policy, appointments are not an excused absence. Please do your best to schedule appointments before or after school, or on one of our many days off from school.

If you are struggling with attendance or need support, we are here to help! Here are some additional resources on the importance of attendance and ways to create healthy attendance habits.

"Attending school regularly helps children feel better about school—and themselves."

Thank you,

Eric Atonna

Attendance Celebrations Went Home Last Week!

Congratulations to this week's Owl Ticket students! They were recognized by their teachers for above and beyond positive behavior.

Owl Tickets are given to students for going above and beyond in one of our five core values: caring, cooperation, responsibility, respect and joy. Owl Tickets focus on the school's trait of the month, give students a chance to participate in the weekly "Owl Tickets" photo and will be posted on the "UPARK" letters in our main hallway.
