Weekly Newsletter: 11/21/2022

Happy Thanksgiving!

I want to take a moment to thank all of you for your role--whatever it may be--here at Saint Agnes School. On all levels the Lord continues to provide for this institution, and as we move forward into a new liturgical year with the beginning of Advent this Sunday, we do so with grateful hearts for our entire Aggie community.

Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

All-School Fundraiser - Kicks Off Tomorrow!

Our kick-off to the annual all-school fundraiser will be tomorrow, November 22nd, with a morning raffle roll-out at convocation for the students.

You should have received a letter in the mail with more details, including information about the exciting incentive prizes. Remember: this is our only all-school fundraiser each year, and 100% of the proceeds stay at Saint Agnes School!

Blessed Karl of Austria Shrine Dedicated

This weekend the Church of Saint Agnes welcomed Her Imperial and Royal Highness Princess Maria-Anna Galitzine, the granddaughter of Blessed Karl of Austria, for the Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe, and the Dedication of the new Blessed Karl of Austria Shrine--located in the southern window of the Maria Hilf Chapel (directly left as you enter through the main entrance of the church). She is pictured above, processing with her grandfather's relic to the chapel, where it was installed.

We were pleased to be able to have so many of our parishioner families present for this solemn occasion, as well as so many of our altar servers from our school--representing parishes from across the metro. These "Knights of the Altar" do a tremendous job week in and week out serving at our school Masses, and it was a privilege for them to assist the parish this weekend for such an important celebration.

REMINDER: No School November 23rd-25th

We pray that you have a wonderful Thanksgiving break with your loved ones!

The Main Office will be closed on Wednesday, Nov. 23rd.

Aggie Give Day: Thank You!

The Give Day Results are IN! You stepped up and made Aggie Give Day 2022 the BEST YET!

You raised $209,300 FOR THE AGGIES!

Thank you just isn't enough. We are humbled by the generosity of the Saint Agnes community. Thanks to you, we are forming more Catholic hearts and minds in faith, reason, and virtue!

An Update from the School Nurse

Vaccination Records

Minnesota law requires that every student who is enrolled in school have up-to-date immunization records on file. Unless there are medical, conscientious, or legal exemptions, children are to be immunized against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, polio, measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, and chicken pox. Parents: Please note that various boosters (or updated records of exemption) are due prior to Kindergarten, the 7th grade year, and the 12th grade year.

The School Nurse has been reviewing and contacting families of students whose records are no longer up to date. Please be attentive to these communications and requests for records.

Measles in Minnesota

There have been several recent cases of measles in the Twin Cities that total more than the number of cases in a typical year in Minnesota. Measles is a highly contagious disease that spreads easily. Symptoms include a fever, cough, runny nose, and watery eyes followed by a rash. Parents: Please note that in the event a case were to appear in a classroom here at school, MDH would require unvaccinated students who have been exposed to measles to quarantine for up to 21 days. Please contact Emily Campbell, SPPS School Nurse, for more information.
