So much to be thankful for as we prepare for our final week before Thanksgiving break. We’re especially excited this week for volleyball, yet again, reaching the final four tournament! We are petitioning the state of Texas to rename the stretch of I-35 from San Antonio to Waco, this weekend each year, as The McLure Trail, because she makes the trip so often.

But mostly, I’d like to remind you about two Thanksgiving items. First, is our luncheon on Wednesday, November 20. We are incredibly excited to welcome all our guests to campus! Please note that all ticket sales have closed. Any guest who wanted to purchase the Thanksgiving meal provided by Luby’s should have done so by now, and any student who wanted this meal (free of charge) had to request a ticket. Any student who did not request a ticket will need to bring their own lunch that day or have a parent/guardian bring their meal. Please note also that lunches on this day are organized alphabetically, by last name. See the schedule and more information below.

Additionally, please consider contributing to our Thanksgiving Food Drive which will continue through November 18. See details in the flyer below.

Finally, please consider thanking a faculty or staff member at ACP during this season of gratitude! To do so, simply click on the link below under “Thankful for Teachers” to submit your note.

Have a great weekend and Roll Tribe!

Thanksgiving Luncheon Schedule and FAQs

FAQs:

Can I bring my child lunch?

Yes, parents may bring lunch for their child(ren) or the student can bring a personal lunch from home. However, students are not allowed to have food delivered through services like DoorDash, UberEats, or other food delivery platforms.

Are there regular cafeteria services provided that day?

No, during the Thanksgiving Luncheon, the only available meal option is the turkey plate. Students may bring their own lunch if they opt out of the turkey plate. Apache Dining (Snack Shack) is also closed for lunch.

How will my child know which lunch to attend?

On the morning of the luncheon, students will receive a colored wristband indicating their lunch period. Faculty and staff will be at the doors checking wristbands to ensure students attend the correct lunch. Students will be called over the PA system when it's time for them to report to the Student Center.

Where will my child go when not in lunch?

Students will follow the regular bell schedule. Freshmen and sophomores who usually have lunch during 4th period but are assigned a different lunch for the day will report to the gym. The same applies to juniors and seniors during 5th period.

Can my child leave after their lunch?

Students are not permitted to leave after lunch. If parents sign their child(ren) out early, the student will receive an unexcused absence for any missed class periods.

Reminders!

Morning Prayer for Students: The Chapel will be open every morning, except for Mass days, at 7:45 a.m. for students to spend some quiet time in prayer before school starts.

Book of the Dead: We invite all ACP families to send us the names of loved ones who have passed away in the last year to be included in our Book of the Dead. These intentions will be remembered and prayed for during our weekly School Masses in November.
