Dear Fourth Church,
What a blessing A Festival of Lessons and Carols was, not only for our congregation, but for numerous visitors as well! Many thanks to all whose work made the last two Sunday evening events possible, especially the Music Ministry and staff.
This Sunday evening we'll look forward to Advent Communion Service at 6:00 p.m., while next on our Advent calendar are three Christmas Eve services: Family Service at 5:00 p.m., Communion Service at 7:00 p.m., and Candelight Service at 11:00 p.m. Morning Worship on Christmas will be held at 11:00 a.m.
Last Sunday concluded the semester's regular Adult Sunday School classes, but this Sunday Dr. Robert Norris will teach a special class entitled "The History of Christmas and Its Traditions," held in the Upper Room at 9:30 a.m.
"And in the same region there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with great fear. And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people." —Luke 2:8-10
