I listen to lots of podcasts since I'm mostly working by myself without anyone to disturb. This is the time of year many of the hosts start talking about setting actionable goals. I literally have put on my Christmas list (yes we do that in my family) the book Atomic Habits. Next year I will mark 50 years on this Earth so that has me thinking more and more about how I hope to spend them.
The good news is I essentially left teaching school over a decade ago and have not looked back. Ok I did teach one year in a charter school but let's not mess up the flow here! I feel like I've been slowly building up my business those years as I made it my full time gig. But luckily it's also my passion and I always look forward to coming to work. So you can bet in 2023 and beyond my goal will be to maybe get more productive, more efficient, smarter about how I do things but I am already doing what I love.
I literally had a new idea this morning on the elliptical machine at the YMCA that I'm going to implement tomorrow. The live show was an idea that I came up with while on a two week beach vacation in August. So in this space I get to be creative even if its mostly as a one man production team. But it's also about the community whether it be in person at events or online through the newsletter and Facebook. I've always been a cheerleader for the hobby and I'll continue to do that as well in 2023.
I have 198 live auctions on eBay including lots of variety. I have just started listing a bunch of VA OA including conclaves and items from Tutelo 161. Somehow I keep getting collections from that neck of the woods.
I published a really fun unboxing video yesterday. You can imagine how happy I was that in this collection I got back a need that I had sold off some years ago. For many many years I did not try and keep any CSPs that came through my hands. So when I did start putting a collection together I needed the obscure Middlesex Council strip that was made for the Philmont contingent in 1966. Miraculously in a Western PA collection a mint condition example was waiting to redeem my mistake.
