The hip bone's connected to the
back bone...
The back bone's connected to the
neck bone…
Most of us know that song…

It’s about how the parts work together in the best possible way to create success. Some of the most important bones in the Caritas support system are our volunteers. They thread us together in so many ways to keep us operating smoothly and stay connected. They keep us whole.

Caritas’ journey began with the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth and their history of deep spirituality and compassion as they spread out across the United States, opening healthcare clinics where they saw a need and working tirelessly to heal the sick. To this day, they volunteer at our clinics and care deeply about our patients, ever passionate about our Mission. When the 2020 pandemic rocked the world, it sadly changed the way we were able to partner with volunteers at the clinics. Now, however, as we have slowly recovered, we once again have opened the doors to welcoming volunteers, hopeful and excited to work with them while we explore the future expansion of Caritas Clinics.
I would like to take this moment to thank our volunteers—past and present—for being our backbone...for being the glue that connects our parts and makes us successful. Without them we are not complete. They bring an outward perspective that grounds us to the community and helps us intensify and strengthen our impact in our communities. They ask for little and give so much. We’re grateful for their presence, thankful for their knowledge and humbled by their grace. They are helping us pave our path as we move into the future of Caritas Clinics.

The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself
in the service of others.
