CWCF was excited to hold our first in-person Conference since 2019 from November 17-19 in Vancouver, BC. We were fortunate to have a beautiful setting, great weather, and most importantly, the chance to connect after so long apart.

Reflections on CWCF's Annual Conference

Once again, CWCF’s annual conference was a source of inspiration and renewal, bringing co-operators together from across the country to focus on the multiple ways we can work in our co-ops and our communities to support the growth and health of the worker co-op sector.

CWCF AGM News

CWCF held our 2022 AGM on November 18, and as always it was an important exercise in fulfilling our commitment to the second co-operative principle of democratic member control.

Wood Shop Workers' Co-op Receives Worker Co-op Best Practices Award

 
Wood Shop Workers’ Co-op received the award for their supportive employment practices, provision of meaningful employment, and their desire to achieve social and economic justice particularly for the most marginalized.

Ambient Bookkeeping Offers a Winning Formula for Any Balance Sheet

Many bookkeepers face an unappealing choice between the lack of autonomy in working for a large firm and the hassles associated with going it on their own. Launched in April of 2020, Saskatchewan’s Ambient Bookkeeping aims to provide its members with greater control over their labour than is typical in the sector by employing the worker co-op model.

Interactive Short Course: Taking Action on Principle 6

Join fellow leaders in an interactive short course to take a deep dive on the topic of inter-co-operation from diverse perspectives - from the role of associations and federations to business partnerships and supply chains, to the development of new co-operatives. The course is being offered virtually January 24 and 25, 2023, from 10:00 am-3:30 pm EST. The course fee is $300 CAD, plus tax. Register here.
