Water Testing: Volunteers Needed for Lead Sampling Program
We’re looking for residents to volunteer their homes to test for lead in the municipality’s drinking water system.

This is routine testing to ensure the safety of our municipal water system.

What’s involved? One of our licensed operators will come to your home between 8am and 3pm. The operator will take a sample from your kitchen tap. The test takes about 45 minutes and uses less than 50 litres of water. You will get a copy of the test results for your home.

If you can help, contact Middlesex Centre Public Works and Engineering to arrange an appointment (email or call 519-666-0190 ext 5263). Please include your address in your message.

Note: If you are looking for information on testing your well water, please check with the Middlesex-London Health Unit.

Pull the Plug on Electrical Fires
You can help pull the plug on electrical fires.

  • Check electrical cords for fraying or nicks.
  • Never use extension cords with appliances. Always plug them directly into an outlet.
  • Always use an extension cord long enough to do the job. Don’t link multiple cords together.
  • Avoid overloaded outlets.
  • Install GFCI outlets near water or sinks.
