From the Director

Dear Mountain Song Community,

With our late start to the school year and last week’s snowstorm closures, we have already used all our planned snow days. This means we’ll move to remote learning for any future closures. While this isn’t the outcome we’d hoped for, it is necessary to support our students' academic progress and meet state standards for instructional hours. We encourage you to familiarize yourself with our Remote Learning Policy.

In more exciting news, our MSCS Annual Campaign is off to a strong start! We are so grateful to everyone who came to the kickoff celebration at Skate City, invested in our school, and helped spread the word to friends and family! Your commitment to our school is truly humbling. If you haven’t donated yet, I encourage you to make your gift today. Every dollar makes a difference, and thanks to our new MSCS Foundation, every dollar is put to good use!

Warmly,

Nate Mylin

Director of Education

Annual Campaign Update

Our MSCS students sending love and appreciation!

Thanks to YOU, we’re celebrating an incredible milestone in our annual campaign – 50 donors, including 36 first-time supporters, have come together to raise nearly $2,800! With a generous $1,000 matching grant from local realtor Janna Mulder, we’re now sitting at almost $3,800 in just the first four days of our campaign!

Every dollar raised goes directly to our Mountain Song Community School Foundation, which allows us to:

  • Enhance and Upgrade Classrooms & Outdoor Spaces
  • Purchase Materials that Spark Curiosity
  • Fund Field Trips & Experiential Learning
  • Support Professional Development for Educational Staff

We’re building this fund to create lasting opportunities for our students, teachers, and school. Together, let’s inspire wonder in our students for years to come!

Our goal by December 31st is $20,000!

We'll have our Rock Star Rally when we hit that goal!

Please Respect Our Neighbors

We recently received a message from a nearby resident who has been dealing with cars blocking their driveway and trash cans, making it difficult for them to come and go, even preventing their trash pickup. As a school community, let’s remember to show courtesy to our neighbors by keeping driveways and trash bins clear. Please take a moment during drop-off and pick-up to make sure we're all helping to create a respectful and considerate environment for everyone around us.

SY45/25 Enrollment is OPEN!

Scenes from May Faire at Mountain Song

We’re excited to announce that the enrollment lottery for the 2025/2026 school year is now open! Families can access the electronic forms on our website. Our lottery is for new students only. Current families with younger siblings (typically kindergarten-aged) interested in joining MSCS next year should enter their non-enrolled child in the lottery. Siblings of current students will have priority for enrollment offers after the lottery closes on February 11, 2025.

We invite you to spread the word about our school by encouraging your friends and neighbors to join us for a tour on either November 21st or December 19th. Visitors can get a feel for our vibrant learning community, meet some of our staff, and see our unique classrooms in action.

Hats and Mittens Drive

Helping hands keep hand warm! It’s time for Parent Circle's annual Hats and Mittens Drive! Every year, our community comes together to donate hats, mittens, and gloves to help keep our students warm all winter. Your generous contributions go directly to children in our school, ensuring they stay cozy during the chilly months ahead. Drop off donations in the main office, and let’s make this our warmest season yet!
