Culinary students from both West Boca Raton High School and Lake Worth High School showed their gratitude to faculty and staff by preparing delicious meals and desserts, and then hand-delivering them with messages of gratitude.

All District-operated schools and offices will be closed for the Thanksgiving Break, from Monday, November 21, through Friday, November 25. All classes resume on Monday, November 28. The School District of Palm Beach County wishes each of you a safe and happy Thanksgiving holiday.

Paper, the free online tutoring service made available to all grade 6-12 District students, has been described as a "life saver" by Jessie Donath, an AICE English teacher at Palm Beach Central High. See why this service drafts a strong argument to be used beyond just basic arithmetic.

This weekโ€™s Thank a Teacher winner from Orchard View Elementary has been proudly teaching for 34 years! Debbie Cicchino says working with her students and seeing them grow "feels like home." Congratulations to Ms. Cicchino, this week's Thank a Teacher and recipient of a $150 check, thanks to HCA Florida Healthcare!

Hudson Meerof, a student at Don Estridge High Tech Middle School, was selected to be on the Sun-Maid brandโ€™s Board of Imagination. Additionally, Hudson will receive a college scholarship, and Don Estridge gets $2,500 plus a yearโ€™s worth of Sun-Maid snacks for the entire school.

The Education Foundation of Palm Beach County launched its Capital Campaign to expand both capacity and reach with the construction of a new 32,000 sq. ft. facility in Lake Worth Beach. Red Apple Supplies is a model for school districts to merge the power of private and public interests so "every teacher, every student, every principal, every school has what they need to guarantee success."


 Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone was first published and Titanic was on the silver screen when Golden Grove Elementary School first opened its doors. Now, the school just celebrated its silver anniversary by welcoming area dignitaries, former principals, and past teachers for a special event marking 25 years of service to the West Palm Beach community on Wednesday, November 16.

Items students placed in a time capsule 25 years ago were revealed, and current students created a new time capsule to be opened when the school turns 50 years old. The festivities include a ceremonial tree planting.
