WINTER 2024 NEWSLETTER

A MESSAGE FROM:

Ian Wheeliker,

Executive Director

Another holiday season has wrapped up, and I want to express my deepest gratitude to you - our community of donors and sponsors - for your continued support of The Outreach Centre.

There was a notable increase in the number of families requiring assistance this year, with a record 223 families and 485 children served through our Adopt a Family program.

These numbers shed light on the growing need for supports within our community. Challenges faced by families in our community have become more complex and widespread, with economic instability and housing insecurity creating greater demand for services and support.

Through the dedication of our team and the generosity of donors like you, The Outreach Centre continues to provide assistance to families facing hardship. Thank you for standing with us. Your support is changing lives and spreading Hope for All!

THANK YOU TO OUR DONORS!

DONOR SPOTLIGHT

PIPER CREEK OPTIMIST CLUB

The Red Deer Piper Creek Optimist Club was founded in 1985 as an initiative of the Red Deer Optimist Club to attract a younger demographic. Several friends and professional associates organized a club of “up and comers” to promote community involvement and philanthropy. Currently, the club has about 60 members.

With a focus on supporting local youth initiatives, the club's mandate is to help "Bring the best out of kids". They also support local non-profit organizations through fundraising events, and have donated $1.6 million back into the community over the past 38 years.

The Outreach Centre is grateful to be the recipient of funding from the PIper Creek Optimist Club for upgrades to our outdoor play area. This area is utilized by clients that are part of our Safe Visitation and Monitored Exchange programs, as well as our therapy programs. These upgrades will ensure that the children and families who access our services have a safe, enjoyable environment that promotes well-being and positive interactions.

The support we have received from the Piper Creek Optimist Club demonstrates their commitment to improving the lives of those who rely on services provided by local organizations like The Outreach Centre.
