Back to Business!

Whether you found yourself hiking, biking, relaxing, or exploring, we hope that you had an inspiring and joyful past few months, all the while taking Covid-19 precautions.

September means back to business for The FAWCO Foundation. Currently, we are planning the next Foundation Night which will be held on Saturday evening of the Biennial Conference, scheduled for March 23-26, 2023, in Bratislava, Slovakia. Foundation Night will offer lots of new surprises to raise funds for our Development Grants and Education Awards.

Additionally, The Foundation will be represented at the Region 4 Meeting in The Hague and the Region 5 Meeting in Frankfurt, both scheduled for November 2022. Let's all do our best to maintain a Corona-safe lifestyle so we can continue to meet in person!

Lastly, always remember: The FAWCO Foundation is YOUR Foundation. Please don't hesitate to contact anyone on the Board if you have ideas, recommendations, or questions. We love to hear from you!

2023 Program Slates and Applications

Has your club been supporting a charity over the last year or years that needs ongoing support? Are you interested in applying for a DG for a specific organization or project? Visit the Foundation website Development Grant page to learn more about the application process as well as the eligibility and nomination requirements for DGs. There is also a 2022 watermarked practice application for review.

The 2023 DG Slate and Application

are now available.

Please note an important change to the following DG application requirement. This change will be in effect for the 2023 application cycle:

In light of the situation with COVID and how it may have affected clubs’ ability to support their chosen charities, at this time clubs must have only supported their nominated charity for six months (instead of the usual one year) before applying for a DG on their behalf. This allows clubs to nominate charities that were perhaps forced to suspend operations for a time due to COVID or charities that may have been born out of COVID. Support is defined as donation of goods, services or money made by three or more individuals of a FAWCO Member Club or FAUSA.

Do you have a child who might be interested in applying for an EA, a child or grandchild who is Dual Cultural, or are YOU interested in furthering your studies? Visit the Foundation website Education Awards page to learn more about the application process as well as the eligibility requirements. You will also find a 2022 watermarked practice application.

The 2023 EA Slate and Applications

are now available.

With deadlines in January, it's best to get applications in before the holiday rush!

This self-published children’s book allows readers to discuss eleven different world issues with young children and shows what important work awaits the world.

Author Nancy Lynner (AWC Central Scotland) and illustrator Tharien van Eck (AWC Antwerp) partnered with Amanda Drollinger and Joyce Halsan (both AWC Central Scotland) for the book design and publishing.

Hope is the Thing with Feathers

Hope is the Thing with Feathers: Portraits of Human Trafficking Survivors and Change Makers was originally introduced at the Stand Up Against Human Trafficking Symposium sponsored by FAWCO and The FAWCO Foundation in 2016.

It was relaunched as a digital book at the Human Rights in Focus event in November 2021. We encourage you to get your copy today!

The proceeds will help fund Breaking the Cycle, one of the Human Rights DGs.

Environment Target Fundraising Coordinator

We are happy to have Lauren Lindheimer from AWC Amsterdam leading us in Target Fundraising. Lauren is originally from Boston, MA and has worked in marketing for the software and food industries, had a color-consulting business, started a nonprofit raising funds for the Sichuan Earthquake victims, and managed a boutique law firm specializing in low-income housing in Seattle. Her superpower is “getting things done." She is looking forward to being the Target Fundraising Coordinator and getting involved with

The FAWCO Foundation.
