Shoes Needed - CECP Shoe Donation Drive

yellow_sneakers_cool.jpg

CECP is helping out with the ACC Student Emergency Fund by running a shoe donation drive. There are three bins throughout the building to drop off shoes, with one near the entry level elevator, one near Ms. Divya's room, and one near the elevator on the upper level. Shoes of ANY size are welcome.

Please contact the front desk if you have any additional questions!

Advising Now Open!

The fall advising calendar is now open. Please schedule with your assigned advisor for a time that works best for you and a parent. Graduating Seniors have priority and should schedule for the first available appointment with their advisor. At your advising meeting, you and your advisor will plan your next semester's schedule, review your Individual Academic & Career Plan (ICAP), discuss any current academic needs, and celebrate your successes. Please reach out to your advisor if your parent cannot make the meeting or would prefer to join virtually. We look forward to meeting with you soon!

*Mrs. Nordgren's students will note she is offering virtual-only appointments on Mondays and Fridays and in-person appointments on Tues, Weds, and Thurs.

October Students of the Month

Congratulations to the following students for exemplifying CECP's values and being all-around great students!

Matthew Stuckenbruck

Matthew is respectful, responsible, self-motivated, and kind to everyone he encounters. Matthew will be graduating this spring with a Mathematics AA degree which he has worked very hard for, taking lots of upper-level math, and maintaining an outstanding GPA. Beyond the classroom, Matthew has volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, where he assisted in building a house in downtown Denver. He also served for Operation Christmas Child. Matthew is someone with grit, humility, and perseverance. He is never afraid to try something new and knows with practice and hard work, there is always a life lesson to be learned from experience.

Samantha Tompkins

Samantha is one of October’s Student of the Month because of her resilience and persistence in accomplishing goals. Sam had a major health concern in 2020 and has had to fight hard to stay alive as well as continuing her academic progress. This year Sam is very involved in school activities like Student Council and HOSA where she leads others with style and grace. Samantha is a role model student due to her perseverance and drive to succeed.

October Staff of the Month

Congratulations to the following staff members for embodying CECP's core values and being an amazing support to the school!

Tommi Martin - CECP Front Desk Administrator

Tommi is so appreciated for all she does for CECP's staff and students. And she does all that with a smile, giving spirit, and a little sass!

Divya LeelaMohan - CECP Science Teacher

Divya's student centered approach to science helps the content come alive for her students. Her hands on approach is innovative and exciting for students. Appreciate her for making science fun!

Internship for December Grads

Opportunity for December grads!

There is an upcoming cohort of AMTAP (Advanced Manufacturing Technician Apprenticeship Program) with Lockheed Martin. This program would be a good option for graduating high school seniors who are not planning to head to a university in the fall but are looking for good employment.

AMTAP offers immediate access to pay and benefits and those given full-time offers after the nine-week paid training program have immediate access to Tuition Assistance if higher education is something they would like to pursue in the future. A virtual information session about this opportunity is on 12/15 and a targeted resume workshop is on 12/16. See flyer for more information.

Information for May Grads will be available in the near future.

Inclement Weather Protocol + Schedule

With a Colorado winter right around the corner, it is important that families and students stay in the know about what to do during an inclement weather day at CECP. Attached is our Inclement Weather Protocol and 2 hr. Delay Bell Schedule, but remember to stay prepared, dress appropriately, and adhere to the delay schedule.

Europe Trip Silent Auction

Please join us for an evening of community spirit by attending a silent auction hosted by the students partaking in the 2023 Europe Trip. Your attendance and participation will greatly impact many students’ ability to pay for this trip with confidence. The silent auction will be hosted on Friday, December 2nd at the CEC Inverness campus in the Geneva Conference Room. It will take place at 6:00pm and light refreshments will be provided. There will not be an entrance fee.

Address: 321 Inverness Dr S, Englewood, CO 80112

To prepare for the silent auction, we are asking for donations for basket items. We have big needs and small needs, and anything you're willing to donate will help out students that have financial setbacks. If you feel called to donate, please follow this link. Simply add items to your cart, and when checking out, please select the recipient 'Jaycee DeSimone' to send the items to the Parker campus.
