During the season of Thanksgiving, I always try to take some time amidst the chaos to reflect and to give thanks for all that I have and for the Nashville community that has given me so much. As a native Nashvillian, and now almost veteran Jewish community professional, I am struck by the strength and compassion of our Nashville Jewish community. I am humbled to call this community my home and honored to work alongside compassionate volunteers and communal leaders who are always looking to ensure that our community is united and strong. Coretta Scott King once said, “The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members.” I believe this is the magic of the Nashville Jewish community. We are all working towards a common goal guided by the mission of the Federation to “promote the general welfare, viability and cohesiveness of the Jewish community of Nashville and Middle Tennessee and to ensure the continuity of the Jewish people locally, in Israel, and around the world.”
None of this can be accomplished without the generous support of a caring and engaged community. As you reflect on your year, and on our Nashville Jewish community, recall that we are all in this together and we (I) welcome your continued support. I am thankful, for your consideration and your dedication to the needs to the Jewish people.
Happy Thanksgiving.
