BCF Launches Volunteer Facebook Page

In BCF’s latest State of the Sector report, nonprofits reported that their volunteers are down 70% on average across all sectors since the beginning of the pandemic. In conversations with the same nonprofits, it became clear that part of the challenge was connecting volunteers with opportunities offered in our community. As a result, BCF has created a Volunteer on Bainbridge Facebook page to connect potential volunteers with nonprofits. Check it out and please invite your local friends to join the page!

Upcoming Capacity Building Grants Cycle

Every October, BCF opens its Capacity Building Grants Cycle, where nonprofits apply for professional development funding to invest in their long-term growth and sustainability. BCF will accept applications for this grant cycle between October 18, 2022 and November 15, 2022 for applications of $500-$1,500. Awards will be announced in mid-December for the period of January 1 - December 31, 2023. Please click here for more details on how to apply.

BCF Named a Charity for Wing Point Invitational

Wing Point Golf & Country Club is hosting its 2nd Annual Wing Point Charity Invitational on October 3, and Bainbridge Community Foundation has been named one of two charities for the event. BCF is honored by this initiative, and is excited to have its work highlighted. The Club hosts several tournaments throughout the year, including men's and women’s club championships, invitationals, as well as senior and couples tournaments.

BCF Celebrates its Leadership Circle

On Thursday, September 8th, BCF hosted an event for the 135 households who are members of our Leadership Circle. Guests enjoyed the sunny deck of Wing Point, where they could make connections with others who are dedicated to supporting the community. By joining BCF's Leadership Circle, members have an inside view of the Foundation’s work and are included in all BCF events—from donor thank you events to lectures and financial education seminars.

KiDiMu's Preschool

Are you still looking for quality childcare opportunities? There are currently openings at KiDiMu's preschool for kids ages 3.5 - 5.5 years old! Class is taught by KiDiMu’s Director of Education, Bernice Cavalluzzi, on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings during the school year from 8:30am to noon.

Bainbridge Island’s Kids Discovery Museum (KiDiMu) has been providing exploratory learning opportunities for all ages since 2003. When COVID-19 hit our community in 2020, like most local nonprofits, KiDiMu had to shut down operations. Over the course of that year, they pivoted to open a preschool. Bainbridge Community Foundation has been proud to help support this preschool through its annual Community Grants Cycle. Their curriculum includes stories, music, movement, games, scientific exploration and plenty of free play—while nature walks and time outdoors are integrated daily. To learn more, click here.
