Broccoli

are this week's Healthy Snack

Broccoli is one of the best non dairy sources of calcium - better absorbed than spinach!

It is a rich source of soluble and insoluble fiber.

Both soluble and insoluble fibers are important for a healthy diet. They help fight diabetes and some cancers, and support cardiovascular and digestive health.   Soluble fiber dissolves in water. It helps lower cholesterol and improve blood sugar control.  Insoluble fiber does not dissolve in water. It helps with constipation.

Eating broccoli helps support kids healthy brain function and growth.

Eat broccoli raw or cooked.

1 cup of broccoli has only 31 calories.
