Weekly News is Thankful...

and On a Break Next Week

We hope that you're so very thankful for the news shared through the Mission Presbytery Weekly News! We'll be taking a week off from publication next week, so we'll see you for more news and pictures on December 1st.

Proposed Amendments to the Constitution

At our next stated meeting, Mission Presbytery will meet at Covenant Presbyterian Church, San Antonio, TX, March 3-4, 2023.

One of the business items will be to vote on the Proposed Amendments to the Constitution. And it’s a whopper this time.

When General Assembly was quickly moved to an online format in 2020 due to the pandemic, it was decided that many amendments would be forwarded to the next General Assembly meeting. That meeting was held this summer.

Attached are links to the proposed amendments, as well as a brief guide written by Rev. Dr. Greg Goodwiller, Executive Presbyter and Stated Clerk of St. Andrew Presbytery, Oxford, Mississippi. These will help in your preparation for the meeting.

As the year turns into 2023, we’ll have information as to how we’ll discern and vote on the proposed amendments.

Winter Family Camp at JKR!

Winter Family Camp. Dec 9-11

Camp fun for the whole family without the 100 degree temps! We will hike, drink hot chocolate, go Christmas caroling (on a hay ride!), make cookies, and do a polar plunge in Blue Hole! (challenge by choice of course).

Stated Clerk's Notes

As our beloved Stated Clerk heads out on vacation, Laurie reminds us about Annual Statistical Reports, By-Laws and Manual of Operations (compelling!). Then she, Caitlin and Diana Butler Bass remind us that "gratitude is not optional."

Sallie's Ponderings

On her way back from worship with the congregations of Convencion del Norte and meeting the the congregations of the Rio Grande Region, Sallie is stopped at the Sarita Checkpoint. The question the Border Patrol Officer asked is one that Sallie now asks of you.
