Tina Tallon, Ph.D. is a composer, creative technologist, and engineer whose work focuses on the myriad ways in which artificial intelligence influences how artists engage with society, with a specific emphasis on equity, accessibility, and algorithmic justice. Her work has received awards from institutions such as the Harvard Radcliffe Institute, MIT, UCSD and the American Academy in Rome, and has been presented in venues ranging from the world’s most esteemed concert halls to leading AI conferences like NeurIPS. Prior to beginning her career as a musician, she received a B.S. in Biological Engineering from MIT, and has nearly a decade of research experience in academic and industrial labs. Her current research explores ways in which AI can place musicians in conversation with clinicians and patients in order to develop data-driven and evidence-based therapeutic interventions and adaptive technologies. In August, she will begin a position at The Ohio State University as Assistant Professor of AI and Music Composition.
