Swim Lesson Registration Begins May 14th

Registration for all summer swim lessons begins on Tuesday, May 14 at 9 am.


Pro-Tip: Add desired lessons to your "wish list" by clicking the heart next to the title in Activenet. That way, you don't have to search on registration morning.

Independence Day Dash 5k and Kids Run

The first-ever LARPD Independence Day Dash 5K and Free Kids' Fun Run will be held at Sycamore Grove Park. It is a chance to break a sweat before kicking back all day with family and friends.


A portion of the proceeds will support the LARPD Foundation.

LARPD Updating Playgrounds at

Three Neighborhood Parks

LARPD announces the first phase of the Playground Replacement Program by installing new playgrounds at Jack Williams Park, Bill Clark Park, and Ida Holm Park.


Work began on April 22 and is expected to be completed by the end of May. As part of this ongoing program, LARPD aims to address deferred maintenance by prioritizing two playground replacements annually.

LARPD Board Chair Receives State-Wide Award of Distinction

David Furst, a longstanding member of the Livermore Area Recreation and Park District (LARPD) Board, has been honored with the California Association of Recreation and Park Districts (CARPD) Award of Distinction for Outstanding Board Member.


This recognition highlights Furst's commitment to the Livermore area's parks and recreation over nearly two decades of service.

Counselor In Training (CIT)

Sycamore Grove Park, June-July, Ages 13-16

Go beyond summer nature camp with the Counselor in Training program! This 1-week program designed for young teens will allow CITs to develop leadership skills and get a behind-the-scenes look at the recreation and outdoor industry while having fun and bonding with their peers. REGISTER

Take Your Mother On A Hike 

Sunday, May 12th, 9-11 am

Join Ranger Danny for a hike in nature, perfect for spending quality time with your mom. Discover and observe some of nature's maternal wonders along the way! REGISTER


Tracks, Scat, and Signs

Saturday, May 18th, 10 - 11:30 am

Get an intro to identifying tracks, scat, and signs, then join Ranger Jay on a park hike to apply your new skills in identifying local animals at Sycamore Grove Park. REGISTER

Maintenance at Sycamore Grove & Holdener Parks

The Rangers are mowing and weed-whipping at Sycamore Grove Park and Holdener Park to reduce the fuel load in the parks after a very wet year.


In addition, an integrated approach to fuel load and invasive pest management will also be undertaken, including a burn in the upper property conducted by the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department on 5/30.
