Update regarding the new library project: The appeal process is ongoing between the Town and an abutter. A summary judgment motion has been filed with the courts. The next step will be another Town Meeting to request the additional funds required due to cost overruns caused by the two-year delay. Requests to the State Legislature for additional funds for library projects that were caught up in the pandemic cost increases have been made. This will be the sixth Town Meeting where Town Meeting members have voted to move the project forward since 2014.

Further information about the project can be found at the Town of Sharon Standing Building Committee page on the Town's website. This Committee took over the project after funding was approved by the Town.

Veterans Resources

In honor of Veterans Day, we have dedicated one of our Main Floor displays to Veterans-related materials (photo).

This also provides an opportunity to remind our patrons about the new collection of materials located in the Periodicals Room. You will find resources for Veterans benefits, employment services, higher education, technical careers, mental health, substance abuse, PTSD, and information for military spouses and dependents. All materials are available for checkout with your OCLN library card.

Funding for the Veterans Collection is provided by the Libraries and Veterans National Forum Grant, Texas A&M University, and a Library Services and Technology Act grant.

Apple Store to download Libby on your device(s) today.

Libby may also be accessed by computer at https://libbyapp.com/library/ocln

  • Kindle (2nd Gen) International
  • Kindle DX International
  • Kindle Keyboard
  • Kindle (4th Gen)
  • Kindle (5th Gen)

However, these Kindles can still download new eBooks. To purchase new eBooks, visit Amazon.com/ebooks on your phone, tablet, or computer. New books can still be delivered directly to your Kindle or downloaded from your 'Archived Items.'

Overdrive has also confirmed that Kindle eBook loans should still work on these devices, stating: "[A]ny Kindle that Amazon says can still receive Kindle titles, should still be able to deliver borrowed Kindle library titles to their Kindle device."
