This Sunday's Theme:

"The True Morning Star- The Messiah!"

Revelation 2:18-29

In-person and Live Stream to Facebook and YouTube at 10:30 AM

Good afternoon friends,

If you heard some melodies from children singing as you drove by the church building earlier today, it’s because today and tomorrow are the Spring Music Programs for the Preschool children and their families. It is such a blessing to build relationships with these children and their families.

Today is a National Day of Prayer, which was instituted by the US Congress in 1952. A little history lesson for you – there are two days each year that Congress has requested the nation to pray. One is today, the National Day of Prayer (the first Thursday in May) and the second is Thanksgiving. It’s not a big request to remember to pray, two days of the year.

But you may want to pray more! We have a prayer team at New Covenant that meets every Thursday from 1pm until 2pm to pray for the church and school. We begin by sharing Scripture from the Daily Texts and then follow up with prayer requests, needs, and petitions. This team is open for anyone to join us in prayer. If you want to be a virtual pray-er, we can accommodate that as well.

This Sunday we will move on to the fourth city in the list of “The Seven Churches,” Thyatira. This letter is found in Revelation 2: 18-29. There is a reference to Jezebel which is taken from the story of Jezebel in 1 Kings 18, 19 and 21. The point here is that some in the church are being misled to follow the ways of the world and to worship the Rising Star, Caesar. But there is one Star, and he is “The True Morning Star – The Messiah!” See you on Sunday!
