Neurology education for emergency medicine providers: development and evaluation of targeted learning resources
12:55-1:00 Q&A
Dr. Lucy Morse is currently completing her fourth year of training in the Mass General Brigham neurology residency program. She completed her medical degree at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, where she developed an interest in medical education, serving on curriculum and LCME review boards while also working in mentorship and tutoring for undergraduates through the university. During her residency training, she explored development of targeted educational resources for medical students, and enjoyed the opportunity to educate colleagues in her experience as a consultant. In doing so, she became specifically interested in ongoing education for advanced practice providers in the emergency department. Understanding that prior knowledge, background and experience in neurology can be varied and diverse among providers in the emergency department, she has worked in association with Dr. Charlie Weige Zhao and Dr. Chris Doughty to develop and study a set of novel and flexible learning resources for providers, allowing them to direct their own continuing education in neurologic emergencies.
Dr. Morse will continue her education in the subspecialty of movement disorders, beginning her fellowship at Northwestern University in the summer of 2024. In addition to her clinical training, she looks forward to continued work in the space of medical education for both neurology residents and non-neurologists alike.
