It’s hard to believe that it’s already December. The 2023 General Assembly session convenes on January 11, and we need your help! VCNP is continuing to support full practice authority for Virginia’s NPs – but we can’t do it without you!

Participate in VCNP lobby days

To ensure that NPs are visible at the State Capitol, we’ll be hosting Lobby Days January 16-27. Whether you can join us for a few hours or multiple days, please mark your calendar now. Watch for additional details soon.
Schedule legislative meetings
Even if you can’t join us for our Lobby Days, you can still help by talking with your representatives about the importance of NP-delivered care. Visit www.vcnp.net/advocacy for our legislative meeting guide, and log in to our members-only section for talking points and other information.

Join VNA advocacy hours
There’s still time to join VNA for its Legislative Advocacy Hours. Participants will learn about Nursing's 2023 Public Policy Platform, hear from local legislators and VNA chapter leaders, and virtually network with nurses in your area. You don’t need to be a VNA member to attend these free events, but you must register to receive the meeting link.

Looking for preceptors, students and December graduates
Are you graduating from an NP, DNP or other program this month? Are you a preceptor, or would you like to thank a current or past preceptor? We want to highlight you in VCNP communications! Graduates, please send your name, credentials, a photo and program from which you’re graduating. If you are or have been a preceptor, please send your name, credentials, a photo and 1-2 sentences about why you serve as a preceptor or what you love about precepting. Students, send your name, a photo and 1-2 sentences about what you appreciate about your preceptor or how your preceptor helped (or is helping) you.
