Prayer of the Day

Holy God, heavenly Father, in the waters of the flood you saved the chosen, and in the wilderness of temptation you protected your Son from sin. Renew us in the gift of baptism. May your holy angels be with us, that the wicked foe may have no power over us, through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

The Transformed Listeners Initiative will be conducting an 18 week trial cohort. We are seeking a broad range of 'preachers' to participate- both lay and ordained leaders, preaching in a variety of settings. Preachers can be in congregational settings and other ministry connections.

The Transformed Listeners Initiative is seeking many different preaching styles, contexts, and methods. The program will offer a stipend to the preachers and/or their communities with $1000 toward their continuing education budget. A few examples of the curriculum include community organizing, preaching, and emotional intelligence.

Participants in the trial cohort will meet weekly on Zoom (roughly 1 hour per week).

Cohorts will meet on Zoom for 1-1.5 hours. Cohorts meet weekly at the same time for 18 weeks.

The trial cohort begins March 6th/7th and will extend into the first week of July. Active participation in the program will be required to ensure the distribution of the participant stipend.

Only 24 participants will be a part of the Transformed Listeners Initiative Trial Cohort. Please apply by March 1st with this form: https://forms.office.com/r/AfQT6BTsY6

The Commission for a Renewed Lutheran Church (CRLC) has designed a survey to be shared throughout the ELCA.

There are questions that apply to churchwide, synods and congregations. Participation is voluntary.

Please share with your congregations as you see fit.

FROM OUR CONGREGATIONS

Attention Congregations, Leaders, Youth Directors -

If you have Youth who would like to pair up for the 2024 ELCA Youth Gathering in July, please contact the Gathering Synod Coordinator, Pastor Bergen Eickhoff at bergen@gsolympia.org.

FROM OUR FRIENDS AND PARTNERS

Please join the People's Healing Collective, a 45 minute monthly zoom gathering with Molly Knutson-Keller (Pastor, Professional Life & Enneagram Coach).

It's a simple, powerful way to experience the dynamic flow of healing and grace. We gather monthly for an intentional "time out" to check-in with our own body and sensations(somatic) via guided meditation, with thought-provoking readings, writing prompts and time to journal, reflection and blessing.

Come as you are! No prep or prior experience necessary. Bring curiosity, compassion and something to write with and in. Hope to see you there, and feel free to invite your friends.
