The 2024 golf season has come to a close for all golf courses, say a few here in Alberta. Following a slow start to the season with a cool April /May the remainder of the year was near perfect with little interruption to play. Areas that saw winter damage were able to recover with hot weather while other areas saw some extremely dry conditions. The talks of water restrictions early in the year, never resulted in any restrictions as timely rainfall in the spring replenished water levels.
The AGSA event calendar was again filled with tremendous events. The Spring Meeting took place at Jagare Ridge Golf in south Edmonton, the AGSA.....

The 2024 golf season is winding to a close here in Ontario. The weather in the latter half of the season was drier, providing a much-welcomed reprieve from the heavy rain events of spring and early summer, which affected many courses across the province, specifically courses in the GTA, where the heavy rains brought flooding. The drier weather has provided for some great golf days.
As the last rounds are played, the focus has shifted to preparing golf courses for winter. Golf courses across the province are in various stages of preparation. In Northern Ontario, some courses have tarped their greens already. In Southern Ontario, the focus is on managing leaves and fall cultural practices, with irrigation blowouts scheduled and winter applications planned for the next several weeks.
