May 3, 2024

For our final week of Good Soil, we will celebrate the fruitful harvest of fertile soil, which represents hearts that receive the Word and produce a bountiful crop. We will examine what it means to be truly receptive to God's Word and how we can actively cultivate fertile soil in our lives. Through obedience, faithfulness and reliance on the Holy Spirit, we will see a harvest for the glory of God and the advancement of His kingdom.

Michael Turner, Executive Pastor, will be preaching in the Auditorium for the Contemporary Worship services; Trevor Miller, Family Pastor, will be preaching in the Sanctuary for the Traditional Worship services.

For those worshiping remotely, you're invited to watch our services online, on Facebook and YouTube.

Children's Baptism Class

Our Children’s Baptism Class will be this Sunday, May 5 at 5 PM in Room 820. Once you attend this class, you can choose from one of our scheduled dates for in-service baptism. Email baptism@mthorebchurch.org with any questions.

Family Worship Night

Join us next Wednesday, May 8 for Family Worship Night, led by our Kid’s Choir and Student Worship Team! This high-energy worship night for all generations will take place in the Auditorium at 6:30 PM. Afterward, we will have free ice cream treats for everyone. Invite your family, friends, and neighbors for this great night of worship.

Immersion Baptisms

May 19 is going to be a special day in the life of our church. On this Sunday, we will have the opportunity for any individual 5 years and up, who has never been baptized to make that important decision in front of the congregation. Baptism is a sacrament in the Global Methodist Church and one of the most powerful ways we identify with God’s family. Our baptismal pool will be set up in the Auditorium during both services. If you have never been baptized and would like to take this next step in your faith, we ask that you email baptism@mthorebchurch.org. and one of our pastors will contact you to discuss the next steps.

Backpack Food Drive

Each year, our congregation has the opportunity to help every family from our local school district struggling with food insecurity restock their pantries through our summer Backpack Ministry. During this break from our normal Backpack Ministry that runs throughout the school year, we partner with churches, businesses, and missions partners in Lexington to provide locally grown produce and meats, as well as a variety of shelf-stable items. With your help, Mt. Horeb will be able to provide all the shelf-stable items needed this summer. You can contribute by purchasing foods from this link and donating them in one of the following ways:

  • Sunday, May 19: Drop donations by the Missions Center or other designated areas on your way into church.
  • Monday-Thursday, May 20-23: Drop items in the collection containers on the patio of the Missions Ministry Offices (brick house located beside the ballfield).
