WE ARE BLESSED!
Through all the ups and downs of our lives, you and I are still blessed. Not so for many in the Ozarks who struggle to have what we take for granted...hope, a safe environment for their kids, affordable housing, food on the table, keeping the lights and heat on, reliable transportation, employment and more. And the holidays, for most a time of celebration and joy, can intensify the struggle for those living on the edge.
Help Give Hope (HGH) began 41 years ago to provide strictly seasonal holiday assistance but quickly grew into a robust year-round charity. Yet, we've never forgotten our roots. Our annual Christmas project remains HGH's single, largest event of the year. This year we've adopted 167 families and approximately 500 kids. Our philosophy has always been that to help kids we must often help the entire family. We also believe providing longer term help has a greater impact than strictly short term assistance. Which is why, depending on the individual needs of each family, we provide appliances, beds, furniture, toiletries, bikes, microwaves, vacuums, pots/pans, dishes/silverware, towels, and so much more!
A day never goes by we don't count our blessings but the Christmas season always bring into sharp focus how incredibly fortunate we are to have so many wonderful friends and supporters who, in turn, give us all the opportunity to touch the lives of so many deserving children and families.
