News from St. Patricia Parish
“Lying at his door was a poor man names Lazerus" -Luke 16:20
Dear Parishioners,

Cardinal Cupich and the Archdiocese of Chicago have established an award, the Christifideles, which is to be given to a lay person in each parish that demonstrates faithfulness and dedication in ministry.

The congratulation letter, dated September 12th, announced that Jessica Scialo has been chosen to receive this award with the approval of her pastor and Bishop Andrew Wypych, Episcopal Vicar for Vicariate V. Cardinal Blase Cupich will confer the award at a ceremony at Holy Name Cathedral on Sunday, October 2nd for invited guests only.

Jessica, along with her husband, Michael, have been members of the parish for more than 30 years. She is the mother of Michael and Gabrielle, St. Patricia Alumni. Over the years, she has been a volunteer school receptionist and the school play director. As play director, Jessica invites all students to participate, which entails two complete sets of cast and four performances with each cast performing twice. All the costumes are made by her or other parent volunteers. Her husband, Mike, supports her in making the sets for the plays each year. All this is done in a kind and friendly manner. There is no drama, despite being involved with drama!
Jessica is a person of prayer who takes time each day to be grateful for her many blessings.
Congratulations Jessica – you are a good and faithful servant!
