GARBAGE RATE INCREASE NOTIFICATION

For Single Family Homes

The Village's waste hauler contract with Groot Recycling and Waste Service has a yearly CPI increase. The last increase that was passed onto residents was in 2022.

This year's contractual increases are listed below and are effective May 1, 2024, and they will be reflected on your May utility bill.

Single Family Current Rate $21.00 New Rate $22.00

Seniors 65+ Current Rate $18.90 New Rate $19.80

TRAFFIC ALERT

The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), in conjunction with the Wisconsin Central Limited (WCL), is planning to repair the badly deteriorated at-grade railroad crossing on IL 120 (Belvidere Rd) west of IL 83 (Barron Blvd) in Grayslake, IL, Lake County. IL 120 (Milwaukee Avenue) will be fully closed to through traffic at the WCL Railroad tracks. The closure will begin on Monday, April 29, 2024, at 9:00 AM and conclude on or before Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 7:00 AM (Weather Permitting).

The vehicle detour route for eastbound traffic on IL 120 (Belvidere Rd) is to proceed north on Hainesville Road, east on Washington St, south on IL 83 (Barron Blvd), back to IL 120 (Belvidere Rd). The vehicle detour route for westbound traffic on IL 120 (Belvidere Rd) is to proceed north on IL 83 (Barron Blvd), west on Washington St, south on Hainesville, back to IL 120 (Belvidere Rd).

Please note that IDOT, WCL and construction schedules are subject to change.

Hainesville residents that would like to sign the pledge to participate in the curbside food scrap program will be provided a kitchen pail for scrap collection while supplies last.
